HC Deb 05 February 1957 vol 564 c231
32. Mr. Willis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement upon the present extent of the overspill problem in Scotland.

Mr. Nixon Browne

The major Scottish problem arises in Glasgow, where it is estimated that at least 300,000 persons will ultimately have to be rehoused outside the city boundary. Problems on a very much smaller scale may arise in one or two other towns, but this has not yet been fully established.
