HC Deb 16 April 1957 vol 568 c1721
Mr. H. Butler

On behalf of my constituents and persons working in the Borough of Hackney, I desire to present a Petition against the Rent Bill. My Petitioners are worried about the powers of landlords to issue notices to quit when there are no alternative premises for them to occupy. They are also worried because the increases in rent allowed will inflict hardship upon families with low incomes, particularly old-age pensioners. They pray that the Bill will be rejected. And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.

To lie upon the Table.
