Mr. Dodds-Parker

I will circulate further details in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Crouch

May I ask my hon. Friend what has been the amount of grants made to Jordan, and does he feel that, in view of what has happened in the last few months, he can justify these large amounts? Further, does he think they have paid a dividend?

Mr. Dodds-Parker

The amounts paid to Jordan, including £4,300,000 loans, has been £30,673,342. I believe that these payments have led to a certain stability in that part of the world, and they have been made under treaty obligations which we, of course, support.

Austria 6,552
Egypt 9,349
