asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what representations are being made by Her Majesty's Government to the Government of the Republic of Eire as a result of the destruction of Her Majesty's Customs posts in the counties of Armagh, Tyrone and Fermanagh by armed attacks from across the border.

The incidents referred to are still under investigation.

Can my hon. Friend give an undertaking that if, when the investigations are complete, they show that these men are coming across the border, Her Majesty's Government will take some action?

As is usual when a matter is under investigation, it would be well to leave it where it is at the moment.
