HC Deb 09 May 1956 vol 552 cc1192-3
20. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Postmaster-General how many new tele-phones have been installed in Berwick-shire during the last 12 months; how many applications are now outstanding; and what is the usual delay after application has been made before a telephone is provided in cases where no special priority is claimed.

Dr. Hill

One hundred and twenty-five telephones were connected in the past year and eighteen applications are outstanding, apart from those in course of being met or under inquiry. In Berwickshire, the interval after application is the same as in East Lothian.
