Mr. Henderson Stewart

I beg to move, in page 28, line 12, at the end to insert: and shall be construed as one with those Acts". This is another drafting Amendment. Its purpose is to apply the definitions in the Education (Scotland) Acts from 1939 and in the Bill to the Clauses in Part II of the Bill.

I take it that the Joint Under-Secretary had to move this because he could not be in his place when it was taken in Committee.

I do not know the answer to that one. As I have said, it is a drafting Amendment, and its purpose is to apply definitions in various Acts to the Clauses in Part 11 of the Bill. If I have been remiss at an earlier point, I am very sorry, but I was not aware of it.
