HC Deb 26 July 1956 vol 557 c610
9. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will arrange for his officials to consult the Pembrokeshire National Farmers' Union on the prevailing prices for home-killed meat and the current tendencies in the utilisation of livestock.

Mr. Amory

My officials keep in touch with N.F.U. Headquarters about prevailing prices and trends for home-killed meat. So far as the position in Pembrokeshire is concerned, I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Gentleman on 19th July.

Mr. Donnelly

Is there any reason why the right hon. Gentleman's officials cannot consult the National Farmers' Union in the district?

Mr. Amory

No, none at all, as to general consultation. In fact, I believe that a meeting has been held between my officials and the Pembrokeshire National Farmers' Union today—either it has been or will be held.
