HC Deb 03 July 1956 vol 555 c1135
13. Mr. Collins

asked the Minister of Labour what effect the administrative economies totalling £475,000 announced by his Department will have on Remploy; and if he will make a statement.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and National Service (Mr. Robert Carr)

None, Sir.

Mr. Collins

Is the Minister aware that that reply will give satisfaction? Can he ask his right hon. Friend if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT details of the heads under which these economies will be made, and can he further say why, if these economies can be made without affecting the service, they were not made before?

Mr. Carr

That is an entirely different question from that on the Order Paper. I can, however, say that my right hon. Friend does intend to outline his proposals in detail to the National Joint Advisory Council at its meeting later this month.
