HC Deb 02 July 1956 vol 555 cc971-2
24. Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Health how many of the officers and staff coming within the Ministerial control of his Department have to meet the cost of their postage, telegrams, telephones, stationery, travel, living away from home expenses, secretarial expenses, and all other expenses necessarily incurred in carrying out their duties to his Department from their State or Civil Service pay; how many of these have not had an increase in this salary for more than two years; and in how many cases in this category has he refused to implement recommendations regarding increases in salary made by an investigating committee set up by the Government.

Mr. Turton

None, Sir.

Mr. Lewis

As that is the answer which I anticipated and it would appear that M.P.s are the only people in this category, I ask no supplementary.
