57. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs which international organisations and agencies have suffered a reduction, and to what extent, in the grants and loans provided for in the Estimates for Class 2, Vote 2, for the year 1956–57.

56. Mr. Warbey

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will give details of the reductions in grants and loans to international organisations and agencies which are being made as a part of the proposed new economies in Government expenditure.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

The revised estimates which will be published shortly will show that provision for the following items has been reduced by £525,000:—

C.1.—Organisation for European Economic Co-operation £12,000
C.3.—North Atlantic Council (Civilian Agencies) £13,000
D.2.—Relief of Palestine Refugees (Grant in aid to United Nations Relief and Works Agency) £500,000
