HC Deb 28 February 1956 vol 549 c984
8. Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what has been the result of the British Broadcasting Corporation's application for an extension of the period of planning permission for the temporary television mast and three mobile units on North Hessary Tor, Dartmoor, after the expiry of the temporary permission up to 31st December last.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (Mr. J. Enoch Powell)

Permission has been given to continue the use until 30th June, 1956.

Mr. Hayman

As there was some delay in the receipt of the application for an extension of the planning permission by Devon planning authority, will the Minister, if necessary, make it clear to all concerned that we are but trustees for posterity of the Dartmoor National Park, which is one of the grandest parts of Britain?
