§ 4. Mr. Osborneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to give an estimate of the added income payable per week to all adults in receipt of less than £2,000 per year as a result of confiscation of all net incomes over £2,000 and their redistribution to those in receipt of less.
§ Mr. H. MacmillanThe aggregate net income in excess of £2,000 each of all those whose net income after deduction of Income Tax and Surtax is £2,000 or more is expected this year to be just over £110 million. This would be sufficient, if confiscated and redistributed, to provide about 1s. 2d. a week for every other adult member of the population.
§ Mr. OsborneI am much obliged for that answer.
