§ 33. Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for War what facilities are given to senior officers to attend official lectures on military matters at the Royal United Service Institution.
§ Mr. HeadOfficers are encouraged to join this Institution and attend its lectures. Most senior officers are members.
§ Mr. HughesIs the Secretary of State for War aware that in a lecture given on 12th October at that Institution the War Office was very savagely attacked by a gentleman known as Viscount Montgomery, who said that the accounting system at the War Office was suitable for the time of Moses and that the War Office was totally and completely unsuited for modern war? Is the right hon. Gentleman not going to reply to Viscount Montgomery?
§ Mr. HeadAmong the Field Marshal's many very great gifts is a considerable gift of over-simplification.
