asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement regarding Her Majesty's Government's policy on the reform of the Thangata system in Nyasaland, the acquisition of land for resettlement by Africans, and the reform of existing systems of African land tenure.

My right hon. Friend hopes to make a statement on this subject soon after the Easter Recess.
