HC Deb 20 June 1955 vol 542 cc1027-8
43. Mr. Collins

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that some of the cars supplied by his Department to severely disabled persons are now more than seven years old; and if he will indicate his proposals for replacement with new cars.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I have the whole of this question under consideration now.

Mr. Collins

Is the Minister aware that, generally speaking, the men first supplied with the cars are those with the greatest need, and that their continued employment and livelihood depend on the efficiency of their cars? At some later date, could the right hon. Gentleman give some indication of future policy?

Mr. Macleod

The principle of replacement is accepted. It is the details of replacement which are being worked out and are under consideration.
