30. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is yet in a position to state when the work on his announced plan to widen the Bridge of Don at Aberdeen will commence.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I expect work to start on this scheme in the early autumn and to take about two years to complete.

Mr. Hughes

Does the Minister realise that the people of the north-east of Scotland will be grateful for that date being fixed, and that I hope that the work will go on promptly?
