asked the Minister of Works the total expenditure, from 1941 to 1954, by the Government, including sewers, roads, pavements and drainage, on the former Ministry of Aircraft Production's bungalow estate at Knowsley. Lancashire.

The information for the war years is not readily available, but records are being searched and I will write to the right hon. Member.

Mr. Wilson

Since it is clear that several tens of thousands of pounds must have been spent on this estate and that the basic services installed could be used for a future permanent housing site, is it not truly monstrous that the estate should now revert to agriculture, for which purpose it is probably entirely unfitted?
