HC Deb 09 November 1954 vol 532 cc1016-7
13. Mr. John Hall

asked the Secretary of State for War if, in view of the success of Exercise "Winch," he will consider including officers and men of the Army Emergency Reserve in any future exercises of this character.

Mr. Head

Yes, Sir. Indeed, there were some men of the Army Emergency Reserve on Exercise "Winch."

Mr. Rankin

Will the Secretary of State remember that this exercise created a great deal of discontent amongst the organised dockers in the West of Scotland, and will he see that in carrying out any further exercises of this nature there is consultation with the dockers' representatives?

Mr. Head

I have not heard about that discontent. If the hon. Member will let me have particulars, I will certainly go into them.
