§ Mr. BirchIn this financial year £6,000 has been voted for public buildings overseas and £600 for public buildings at home. In addition there is still £900 in the special fund for works of art provided by the generosity of private subscribers. Purchases are made by my Department on the advice of my Curator of Pictures.
§ Colonel Gomme-DuncanCan the Minister say whether the famous picture "Autumn Landscape," which was put in the catalogue upside down without any apparent effect on its appearance, was purchased for this fund?
§ Mr. StokesHas the Minister looked at the 900 oil paintings stored close together in a single room in Hampton Court to see whether something could be done to make those available for embassies and consulates abroad?
