asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has any statement to make on the progress of the negotiations over Persian oil.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Negotiations in Tehran are proceeding in a cordial and businesslike atmosphere and some progress has already been made. I trust that the House will not press me further at the moment.
