HC Deb 23 June 1954 vol 529 c417
23. Mr. Royle

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what regulations have been passed in British Guiana since the suspension of the Constitution.

Mr. Lyttelton

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to the rules and orders made under the Emergency Regulations. I will send him particulars.

Mr. Royle

Will the right hon. Gentleman say whether any progress has been made since the previous Government went out of office towards the well-being of the people of this Colony in line with what was promised when the P.P.P. went out of existence as a Government?

Mr. Lyttelton

Very much progress has been made. I was not quite sure from the hon. Member's question which Government he meant.
