HC Deb 17 June 1954 vol 528 c2265
32. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Agriculture how far the rabbit disease of myxomatosis has now spread.

Sir T. Dugdale

Since the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Newbury (Mr. Hurd) on 20th May, outbreaks of myxomatosis have been confirmed in Anglesey, Pembrokeshire, West Suffolk and West Sussex.

Major Anstruther-Gray

Can we take it that we now have evidence that since the warmer weather has come the disease is spreading more quickly?

Sir T. Dugdale

I think that that may well be the case.
