HC Deb 02 June 1954 vol 528 cc1350-1
The Lord Advocate

I beg to move, in page 18, line 3, after the second "any," to insert "act."

This is a clarifying Amendment. Subsection (1) as it stands follows a similar provision in the Rent Acts which refers only to neglect or default of the tenant. While no difficulty appears to have arisen from the absence of the word "act," it has been represented that the words "neglect or default," which are rather negative terms, may not cover positive acts. It is reasonable that the subsection should cover matters of that kind, and, consequently, this Amendment has been put down.

Amendment agreed to.
