HC Deb 06 December 1954 vol 535 c590
25. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Attorney-General if the Committee appointed to examine the question of land charges has commenced its deliberations; and how soon it is anticipated that its recommendations will be received.

The Attorney-General

Yes. The Committee, which was set up on 1st October is now receiving evidence. I am not yet in a position to say when it will be able to report.

Brigadier Medlicott

Will my right hon. and learned Friend bear in mind the desirability of making these registers, especially of local land charges, really comprehensive so that the hazards attending the ownership of property nowadays can be brought to the notice of intending purchasers?
