HC Deb 28 October 1953 vol 518 cc2792-3
36. Mr. Morley

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if his attention has been drawn to the nuisance of low-flying aircraft over the Itchen district of Southampton; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Yes, Sir. Representations have recently been made to my Department by residents from the Bitterne district, who have since met the Southampton (Eastleigh) Airport Consultative Committee on 2nd October. I understand that the deputation expressed themselves satisfied that everything possible was being done to keep down disturbance to the neighbourhood. My hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary has recently explained to the hon. Member by letter the details of the situation.
