§ 35. Mr. Jannerasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is satisfied that the terms and definitions, both for wool cloths and for cloths made from a mixture of wool and fibre recently issued by the British Standards Institution, are being fully used by those concerned.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftI understand that there is evidence that the recently published "Glossary of Wool Terms" is already being actively used in the trade, but it will, naturally, be some little time before the full extent of its use becomes apparent in retail business.
§ Mr. JannerIn view of the clear terms in which these definitions have been given, and in order to protect the public, is the Minister prepared to do anything about publicising these much more widely?
§ Mr. ThorneycroftI believe that these terms are fully publicised by the British Standards Institution in the trade concerned.
