38. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Works the total attendance so far this season at the Battersea Pleasure Gardens; and what are the new major attractions.

Mr. Eccles

The Pleasure Gardens were fully opened on 16th May when the attendance was 26,365. Before that date, when the Funfair only was open during Easter week and subsequent Friday evenings and Saturdays, the total attendance was 105,416. Special new attractions include the "Lumascope"; an inflatable rubber figure called "Gargantua the Giant"; a "Space Ship," a small circus and a number of Coronation features including a floral crown standing some 23 feet high on a cushion of flowers.
