asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the Report of the Purchase Tax (Valuation) Committee, of which Mr. Frederick Grant, Q.C., is chairman, is expected to be published.

Could the Minister say whether the Government propose to accept the recommendations of the Report and whether legislation will be required?

This Government always follow the very enlightened procedure of first publishing a report, then obtaining the public reaction of democracy to the report, and then deciding on the action to be taken.
