asked the Minister of Food if he will now increase the fruit content of jam.

The Food Standards Committee has recently made further recommendations which I propose to adopt. I shall shortly make an Order increasing the minimum fruit content of both raspberry and loganberry jam from 25 per cent. to 30 per cent. and of blackcurrant jam from 22 per cent. to 25 per cent.

Is the Minister aware that this long-delayed decision will be very welcome to growers and consumers in this country?

Mr. Nabarro

Will my right hon. and gallant Friend bear in mind the large surplus last year in the Worcestershire plum crop and apply similar increases in the case of plum jam?
