HC Deb 16 March 1953 vol 512 c1797
4. Mr. P. Wells

asked the Minister of Food if he will now improve the minimum standards of ice cream.

Major Lloyd George

I shall raise the standard as soon as the supply of ingredients, particularly milk powder, permits.

Mr. Wells

Is it not deplorable that the Minister should allow the continuance of the sale of this commodity which is nothing more than frozen water, the relationship to ice cream being only in name and appearance?
