asked the Minister of Transport if he will now permit Nottingham City Council to go ahead with its plans for a bridge across the Trent at Clifton, a statement of the case for which has been sent to him by the hon. Member for Nottingham, South.

Yes, Sir. I am now prepared to give favourable consideration to an application from the Nottingham City Council for my authorisation of this scheme under Defence Regulation 56A.
