15. Sir G. Lloydasked the Minister of Health whether he will send a productivity team to visit United States hospitals to study the techniques and costs of hospital administration and equipment.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThere is already a constant interchange of information and visits to study particular aspects of hospital work between this country and the United States, and I hope that this will continue.
Sir G. LloydIs my right hon. Friend aware that I find his answer a little disappointing and that other people will share that disappointment?
§ Mr. MacleodNo, Sir, I do not agree that the answer is disappointing. I think that these visits, sponsored, as they are, by a wide variety of bodies, are the best method of getting the proper interchange of information.
§ Mr. BlenkinsopWould the right hon. Gentleman agree that in this field perhaps we have got more to teach the Americans than they have to teach us?
§ Mr. MacleodThat may well be so.
