HC Deb 26 February 1953 vol 511 c2280
7. Sir T. Moore

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is in a position to publish the order regulating the import of horses and donkeys into this country from Ireland.

Sir T. Dugdale

I assume that my hon. and gallant Friend is referring to the Horses (Sea Transport) Order, 1952, which is designed to safeguard horses and donkeys against unnecessary suffering while being carried by sea to or from Great Britain. This Order was made and published last July.

Sir T. Moore

Can my right hon. Friend say whether the Order is working entirely satisfactory?

Sir T. Dugdale

I have had no complaints about its working.
