30. Mr. Palmer

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will make available the report of the special committee appointed by the British Electricity Authority and the area boards to investigate and make recommendations on the working of the organisation since vesting day.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

This is an internal committee of the British Electricity Authority, which should decide the question of publication.

Mr. Palmer

Now that both sides of the House accept the sound principle of national ownership of the supply of electricity, would the right hon. Gentleman agree that it would be useful to have this report so that we might decide between us whether the soundest farms of organisation are being adopted?

Mr. Lloyd

Yes, Sir. The hon. Gentleman would probably also think it is sound that if the British Electricity Authority set up an internal committee for the purposes of their own investigation it should be for them to decide on the question of publication.

Mr. Nabarro

Would it not be pertinent to ask my right hon. Friend when this House will consider the misconceived policy of the British Electricity Authority?
