§ 24. Mr. Doddsasked the Minister of Health with which local authorities he has been able to arrange experiments in the fluoridation of water supplies before 567 a decision is taken as to whether it should be generally adopted.
§ Miss Hornsby-SmithThis matter is still under consideration, and no authority has yet been approached.
§ Mr. DoddsIn view of the importance of this matter and the fact that several weeks ago it was announced in the House that arrangements would be made with local authorities, can the Parliamentary Secretary say when progress is likely to be made?
§ Miss Hornsby-SmithI do not accept the implication that no progress has been made. In choosing a particular area for a study of this kind, great care has to be taken regarding the size and compactness of the area, and also its water supply. That study is now being carried out, but the decision as to the exact areas has not yet been made.
