asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in formulating his Budget for 1954, he will give sympathetic consideration to the provision of Income Tax reliefs in respect of expenditure on fees at independent schools.

My hon. Friend raises an important point of principle, but I will certainly consider this suggestion, in common with other taxation suggestions, when I am framing my 1954 Budget proposals.
