HC Deb 15 April 1953 vol 514 c175
6. Mr. T. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what information he has received from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation on the plans for the reorganisation of the office administration of the headquarters of the organisation.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

The headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation were reorganised at the time of their move from London to Paris a year ago. I am not aware that the Secretary-General is contemplating another reorganisation at the present time.

Mr. Reid

Has the right hon. and learned Gentleman endorsed the strictures passed by Field Marshal Lord Montgomery on the office administration of this institution?

Mr. Lloyd

I gather that the principal complaint of the Field Marshal was of too much paper. I think that is a comment I might apply to many institutions.
