asked the Minister of Food what is the tonnage of bananas arriving in this country which has been condemned unfit for human consumption during the current year; and what proportion of the tonnage was already unfit for human consumption when it reached this country.

Dr. Hill

Some 1,900 tons, representing 1.61 per cent. of the total imports of bananas. Practically all were condemned on arrival.
