HC Deb 25 March 1952 vol 498 c187
28. Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps are being taken for access to land for agricultural purposes to the west of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board's Scheme at Loch Mullardoch.

Mr. Snadden

The question of access is being considered. I understand that the Hydro-Electric Board are discussing the matter with the Highlands Agricultural Executive Committee.

Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton

Is it not the case that round Benula Lodge there is considerable land suitable for grazing now completely cut off because of submersion of the road? Will my hon. Friend take urgent steps to ensure that this land can be reached?

Mr. Snadden

I think we had better await the result of inquiries by the agricultural committee concerned.
