HC Deb 12 March 1952 vol 497 cc1378-9
41. Mr. Parker

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what steps are being taken to open the Painted Hall at Greenwich on Sundays, so that it can be visited by working Londoners and visitors from the provinces and overseas.

42. Mr. Norman Dodds

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will arrange for the Painted Hall, Greenwich, to be open to visitors on Sundays for an experimental period during the forthcoming summer season.

Mr. Digby

To open the Painted Hall, Greenwich, to visitors on Sundays will involve the employment of attendants, etc., on overtime, leading to additional expense at a time when stringent economy must be our watchword. My right hon. Friend is, however, arranging for an experimental period of Sunday opening during this summer.
