§ 42. Mr. William A. Stewardasked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will consult the members of the Commonwealth as to the means by which increased facilities can be made available for emigration from this country.
§ Mr. FosterThere is constant consultation with the High Commissioners in London concerned and it has not been brought to my notice that existing facilities are inadequate. We are always ready to co-operate in dealing with any difficulties that may arise.
My hon. Friend may care to refer to the Adjournment Debate on emigration to the Commonwealth which took place in the early hours of this morning.
§ Mr. Langford-HoltIs my hon. Friend aware of the feeling of hon. Members in all parts of the House that this type of proposal is the only ultimate solution to the economic stability of this country and the political stability of the Commonwealth; and that for years Govern 647 ments of all complexions have failed to tackle the situation adequately?
§ Mr. FosterMy noble Friend has taken note of that feeling.
