§ 29. Mr. Proctorasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will review the practice whereby a naval pensioner is denied the full pension at the married man's rate in those cases where he is living apart from his wife; and if he will review the case of Mr. Frederick Reddington, particulars of which have been supplied him, and exercise his discretion in favour of Mr. Reddington.
§ Mr. J. P. L. ThomasYes, Sir. I have studied the case again, and after full consideration have decided to allow Mr. Riddington the option of being treated as married or single. He will, of course, have to inform the Admiralty of the amount of his wife's income.
§ Mr. ProctorDoes the right hon. Gentleman realise that his answer will give great satisfaction and that it would have saved me quite a lot of correspondence if I had received it earlier?
