HC Deb 17 July 1952 vol 503 c2321
34. Mr. Crouch

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many agricultural holdings there are in Dorset between 150 and 300 acres; and how many above 300 acres.

Sir T. Dugdale

In June, 1951, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 543 holdings in Dorset of between 150 and 300 acres of crops and grass; and 333 holdings of over 300 acres.

Mr. Crouch

Does my right hon. Friend realise that his reply indicates the wisdom of his award at the last February Price Review of 4d. a gallon on the first 400 gallons of milk produced, because it is the small man who benefits, and in Dorset we have about 3,000 holdings of under 50 acres each?

Sir T. Dugdale

I agree with my hon. Friend.
