HC Deb 10 July 1952 vol 503 cc1520-1
59. Lieut.-Colonel Hyde

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury when the report of the committee at present considering the export of works of art will be published.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

When the report has been received the question of its publication will be considered.

Lieut.-Colonel Hyde

Is my hon. Friend aware that this committee has been sitting for over a year, that many people are interested in its conclusions, and that it is about time it came to a decision?

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I fully appreciate the interest in the work of this committee, but my right hon. Friend would, naturally, prefer to see the report before saying what can be done.

Mr. Lewis

Can the hon. Gentleman say when he is likely to receive the report?

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

No, Sir.
