asked the Minister of Food when it is expected that a handbook on hygiene for catering establishments will be issued to local authorities; and by whom the handbook is being written.

Dr. Hill

The handbook is expected to be on sale early in the new year. It has been written in my Department

Dr. Broughton

Will the Minister consider advising the author, or authors, to consult some of the clean food guilds and the St. John Ambulance Association, which have now had a considerable amount of experience in the campaign for cleaner food?

Dr. Hill

There has been widespread consultation, in the Department and outside, but I will look into the point raised by the hon. Member.
