HC Deb 23 April 1952 vol 499 cc386-7
25. Mr. Ian Harvey

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Defence if he is now in a position to make a statement on his proposals with regard to the education of children of members of the Forces who are separated from their parents.

Mr. Birch

I cannot at present add to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for War in the debate on the Army Estimates on 10th March last.

Mr. Harvey

Has my hon. Friend realised that this development is likely to be very helpful to recruiting for the Regular Forces, and will he see that it is carried out as soon as possible?

Mr. Birch

No development has yet taken place in that direction.
