asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will bring forward legislation to redistribute the functions and alter the boundaries between local authorities.

Mr. H. Macmillan

This matter will receive the Government's attention.

Mr. Swingler

Is it the right hon. Gentleman's intention to set up a new boundary commission, or a new commission to examine the boundaries between local authorities and their functions?

Mr. Macmillan

That is one of the matters which I am now considering.
