HC Deb 14 November 1951 vol 493 c958
14. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether the local planning authority was consulted before a new post box was erected outside the post office at Roch, Pembrokeshire.

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Mr. David Gammans)

No, Sir.

Mr. Donnelly

Is it not the Postmaster-General's policy that his Department shall consult local planning authorities before they undertake the development of National Park areas?

Mr. Gammans

The local planning authorities stated that they did not wish to be consulted over comparatively small matters of this kind.

Mr. Donnelly

Is the Minister aware that this particular pillar box is the most dreadful monstrosity his Department has ever built?
