HC Deb 14 November 1951 vol 493 c962
15. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the need for a telephone booth to be installed at the corner of Wellington Road and Forest Lane, Forest Gate, E.7; and when this long-promised booth is likely to be installed.

Mr. Gammans

A new kiosk will be provided as soon as possible. Suggestions regarding the site are about to be put to the local authority.

Mr. Lewis

Is the Assistant Postmaster-General aware that there are prefabricated huts in this area which are very liable to fire, and that there are at present no means of getting into contact quickly with the ambulance, fire and police services? If he could see his way clear to have a kiosk placed in this spot it would be very helpful to all the residents in the area.

Mr. Gammans

I was not aware of that fact, but I can assure the hon. Gentleman that there will be no delay in considering the application.
