asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government to what extent he intends to raise the quota for house building to local authorities in London.

I will consider this question in the light of actual progress.

As the London County Council is not likely even to build up to its existing allocation this year, will my right hon. Friend consider authorising that council to fill the gap by issuing licences to private builders?
